The merry month of March

London, England Lots of lovely experiences came my way this month.

I revisited some familiar favorite sites. I saw some wonderful things that were quite new to me. I decided that the Northern Line is much more convenient than I ever realized. Though I did have an accident that involved a trip to the emergency room of a nearby (very impressive) major hospital, it was not caused by stepping into the street and failing to look in the correct direction – a rookie tourist mistake.

But most of all, it was a wonderful month of “let’s pretend.” I was single and footloose in a lovely flat in central London, with very few responsibilities to worry about. I had wonderful friends to play with and advise on the finer points of the London transportation system, and who also love a good day spent adventuring — as long as it includes a good café. I even got to meet up with a New York friend who just arrived here for her own adventures.

It’s sad to give up my fantasies, but I do look forward to some things that home offers. I’ll console myself with memories of this idyllic month. It may never be repeated, but I hope to return and catch glimpses of the places that I can claim as wonderful memories.

Thank you, London.

    1. Couldn’t have been smoother. Got through Global Entry without a pause and then just had to wait for luggage.

  2. This dedicated armchair traveler is extremely grateful and wishes you continued safe travel. ♥
