Vienna, Austria Yes, there comes a time or two in a long trip when you just have to take the day off. We arrived in Vienna by train yesterday and got settled in our rental apartment. That alone takes a while. We went out briefly to explore our neighborhood, which seems very promising. We’re in a pedestrian mall filled with shops and restaurants. Many were closed for Easter Monday, which seems to be a major holiday in this part of the world. (We could barely get breakfast in Budapest yesterday.) But we managed, and then went home for a nice long sleep.
Today is cold and rainy and it seemed like an excellent day to just hit the nearby grocery store and stock our kitchen, do some laundry, then just take a deep breath.
The weather will be better tomorrow, and we will venture out bravely then to see what Vienna has to say to us.
Don must be so happy to be in Vienna.
We both love this city. Plus, he gets to go to the opera!
