We had almost another full day in Chania, so we decided the most productive thing we could do was investigate one of the nearby beaches, and at the same time pay homage to the Greek god of the sun.
Off we went for hours in the lovely Cretan sun, in case you were worried we were turning pale from so many museums.
This place had everything, including a kind of tiki bar with the worst excuse for hamburgers ever conceived.
But it was a great day out, followed by a verrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyy long trip to Athens. We have just arrived at our hotel, a special on points and miles. Finally, a room befitting our status as tired travelers. I think we will move in.
P.S. No, none of our other hotels has been this grand, by any stretch of the imagination…
