…and so here we are, once more in the Eternal City. Seems like an eternity since we last saw it!
We spent last night flying into London and then to Rome. While the temperature is seemingly the same as the New York we left, somehow it just feels much warmer. Perhaps it’s the lemon trees that give us a sense of Mediterranean summer. I for one am ready to shed my jacket, and soak in the sun.
Our hotel is very close to the Coliseum, which is undergoing a long-overdue cleaning. We’ll go inside tomorrow (after we collapse tonight), but for now, here are a few views from our new neighborhood. Wood being delivered for the nearby wood-burning pizza oven, Lombardy poplars and stone pines, new and old apartment buildings – it all looks and smells wonderful!
We are finally here and ready for our Italian adventure…
