Surely there are books one could fill about the history and highlights of Liverpool, and as we learn more about it, we hope to collect some fresh insights. But that’s tomorrow’s goal. Today was all about hitting town and going right for the top attraction – The Beatles, of course.
We will have more to report on the Liverpool lads, but today we hit some highlights with the Magical Mystery Tour, with at least 40 other people of a certain age who were equally eager to see the sights of Liverpool through the lives of the Fab Four.
Along the way, we saw Ringo’s house – the pink one on the right, and the local pub featured on his first solo album…
…Penny Lane, with all the tourists taking pictures of same…
…George’s house – just past the realtor’s sign…
…Brian Epstein’s family home – much more posh…
…the church hall where John and Paul first met…
….the entrance to Strawberry Fields, the children’s home that John walked by often…
…the home where John lived with his aunt and uncle…
…Paul’s childhood home…
…and for the finale, the Cavern Club, where they played so many times. What a day.
We love you, yeah, yeah, yeah….
