It was a busy day in Reims today, waiting for our friend Gail to arrive from America. We were at the Champagne-Ardenne TGV train station most of the morning, but finally at 4:00 she arrived! Big delay in getting out of Charlotte last night, for which we can blame the Italians – don’t ask.
We had time for a walk around our hotel and a late lunch/early dinner. Much of this town had to be rebuilt after WWI, so there is a lot of Art Deco flair around. Much more to come tomorrow, but for now, we are all comfortably settled in this large and history-laden city.
