Though we were there in April, we did not have sufficient time to pay homage to one of Aix-en-Provence’s favorite sons, Paul Cezanne.
We corrected that slight today.
In the morning, we took a tour called “In the Steps of Cezanne,” in which we saw the place where he was born, married, painted, went for coffee and walked the streets.
Seeing the rest of the city for the second time was wonderful. Cezanne said, “When you are born here, it’s hopeless. Nothing else is good enough.” Yes, you could live in this place quite nicely…
