Hard to believe that we could use a vacation, but the truth is we are now spending three days in the resort town of Le Touquet-Paris-Plage, and, so far, it’s just what the doctor ordered.
Our regimen for yesterday afternoon and all of today consisted of moving from the sun deck to the pool, and then reversing that process. It was tough, but it needed to be done. And, as we were the only people there all day, it was particularly wonderful.
We did take a walk tonight through this famous sea-side town, an upscale French Cape May, with an interesting blend of Swiss/Dutch.Art Deco.Anglo/Norman architecture. Our hotel is in les “Jardins de la Manche,” a forest protecting the luxury villas of the area from the wind and the weather. The streets of the town itself were hopping with many of the Brits this place has always attracted, and the season is in high gear.
Tomorrow will be more of the same. Lots of nothing needs to happen, so don’t be surprised by radio silence.
Since the pace of your “vacation” has astounded me for quite some time… it’s good to know that even the two of you need a break every now and again!!
So glad to know you don’t think we are shirking our travel duties! Now I’m going back to bed to read my book….
The French have an odd idea of what a “shooting” is. Bonne vacance!
So many odd ideas here – some more delightful than others….
