Why should turkeys have all the fun this week? For our Thanksgiving treat, we have escaped to windy and warm Aruba for ten days of sun, sand and pools – oh, and also umbrella drinks.
When we traveled to Kentucky, it was obligatory to see Churchill Downs. We’ve been to Saratoga. And we just finished seeing a lot of Roman sporting venues. So, we decided to visit a race track just a subway ride away in Queens – Aqueduct.
Ethically separated communities are hardly in vogue these days, but America’s most densely populated Chinatown served a real purpose for its inhabitants over the last 150 years. We thought it was time we knew more about it, so yesterday we took a food-tasting tour of Chinatown and had a most delicious time.
It’s not a very sunny day in New York, but that is probably just fine for the 50,000 runners who have come here from all points of the globe to take part in the New York City Marathon.
