We were circling the Central Valley of California today, heading back to San Luis Obispo tomorrow. It’s not like us to repeat ourselves geographically, but we live in hope that we will reunite with our newly repaired car tomorrow. We miss her dreadfully.
To distract ourselves, we spent the day in the wine country in and around Paso Robles. This is a lovely area, and not devastated by the drought, as was so much of the land we saw today. One can almost imagine that this is Italy or France. We sampled the goods at several wineries and had a lovely time doing it.
The town itself is charming and will probably be the next Napa in terms of tourism. (What do I know? Perhaps it already is.) Sun, wine, olives – what more can you ask for?
